Benefits

Membership Benefits

When you join the American Massage Therapy Association, you get the strongest benefits package in the profession!

You also get the power of the AMTA-MA Chapter and we have even more (award winning) benefits for you.

Education

AMTA-MA Chapter hosts an annual event, In-Depth Education for All (IDEA) Conference. This three-day event is held each spring on the same weekend as our Annual Chapter Meeting in Needham, MA. This is a great place to get your CEs (up to 19!), go beyond just intro seminars, visit our Vendor Hall for the products, education and services you are looking for, all while spending time with friends and colleagues. This event in particular features some of the most elite certification programs around.

We also host seasonal education events across Massachusetts – from Northampton to Cape Cod. These high-quality and affordable education events are with the best instructors in the world. Each education event is paired with a Chapter Meeting with complimentary lunch to give you time to meet your colleagues and stay informed on news pertinent to the massage therapy profession.

We know you take continuing education seriously, so we help you find other education events hosted by schools and providers all over the state, too.

All education is NCBTMB approved.

Networking & Community

We have four chapter meetings a year where you get to meet your colleagues and learn from each other. We know it can get a little lonely all cooped up in your treatment room!

At our big Annual Meeting every spring along with our IDEA conference. This is when our professional members vote on leadership, budget and more. You will also hear from our Chapter Attorney and Chapter Lobbyist and have your questions answered. We give out awards and share chapter updates.

Volunteer Event Opportunities

We have members all over the state volunteering at charitable events and there’s likely an event near you. It’s easy to meet your colleagues and do a little good, too.

Massage Chairs

The Chapter has four onsite massage chairs for members to borrow at no cost.  The chairs are in Newton, Western MA, Cape Cod, and Worcester.  To borrow one, just contact us at info@massamta.org.

Legislation and Advocacy

You get regular updates on Massachusetts Laws and Legislation that affect massage therapists here on our website and through our email updates. We are the only professional organization with a lobbyist on hand to help with state licensing in MA. If you’ve got questions, just call us at 888-833-3206 or email info@massamta.org and we’ll help you find the answers.

Newsletter

Four issues a year of news, updates and articles from local, national and internationally known massage therapists. Sign up to receive our seasonal newsletter. We also send out occasional emails as news and information comes up that you’ll want to know.

Health Insurance Agent

We’ve got a great deal with the Massachusetts Business Association to get you a Health Insurance Agent at no charge. They will research all health insurance options available to you and assist you in processing your paperwork. You’ll also get access to health insurance plans that would not otherwise be available to you as a small business. Check out the form and contact Jodi Hogan here.

Additionally, you may be eligible for a pre-tax savings with a Health Savings Account (HSA) along with a medical program through Massachusetts Business Association. Email Jodi Hogan at jhogan@hsainsurance.com for more details.

Financial

Tailored Wealth Management will wave the $40-$80  annual fee when you start a new IRA or rollover an existing one. AMTA Massachusetts Chapter members also receive complimentary retirement and financial planning.  www.tailoredwealthmanagement.com.

Student programs and assistance for new therapists

The AMTA-MA Chapter is involved in the AMTA Mentor Program.  This is an excellent benefit for massage therapists looking for help with questions, thoughts, ideas, and much more.

We’re proud to award an annual scholarship to students through the Diane Polseno Student Scholarship Fund. Winning student(s) are given a cash award that includes a year of AMTA membership.

The Massage Therapy Foundation

We strongly support the Massage Therapy Foundation and believe in their mission to advance ‘the knowledge and practice of massage therapy by supporting scientific research, education, and community service.’ We’re especially proud of this Liddle Kidz Foundation in Japan program, sponsored in part by a gift from the AMTA-MA Chapter.
